Friuli Venezia Giulia has always been a hub for science and innovation. In an era where the energy transition is no longer a choice but a global imperative, our region stands at the forefront, offering unique educational pathways within the international landscape.
As the Trieste International Foundation for the Progress and Freedom of Science (FIT), we are proud to support and promote the “Energy Schools.” These are learning ecosystems where academic knowledge meets practical experience and industrial vision. Whether exploring technological fundamentals or understanding the dynamics of green markets, our programs are designed to train tomorrow’s leaders in sustainability.
Two pathways, one shared goal
The educational offer, taught entirely in English, is built upon two complementary pillars:
- Introductory School on Renewable Energies (SIER): the ideal starting point for those wishing to engage directly with innovation. Through practical, hands-on laboratories and a focus on local excellence, this school transforms curiosity into expertise, providing the necessary tools to navigate local and international green technology markets. Upon completion, participants are awarded 6 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits.
- “Giacomo Ciamician” Summer School on Energy: a five-day residential immersion in the heart of the Dolomites. Established under the auspices of the University of Trieste in 2010, this school offers a comprehensive, 360-degree perspective on the technological and socio-economic challenges of the energy sector, in an environment that fosters direct dialogue between students and leading global experts.
Why participate?
We offer more than just lectures; we provide valuable networking opportunities. Joining these schools means becoming part of a community of researchers, professionals, and young talents who believe that energy is the greatest opportunity of our century.
Explore our courses, discover the local innovation ecosystem, and get ready to contribute to the global energy challenge.
